On March 9, Halovich pled guilty to two of 10 charges he was facing concerning the Feb. 9, 2020 incident: aggravated assault and possession of a loaded, restricted handgun.
Beckett ordered both a pre-sentence report and a Gladue report, which assists a judge with sentencing options for people of First Nation heritage. The court heard Halovich is of Indigenous heritage on his mother’s side.
