The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced the successful launch of eKYC by financial institutions in the Kingdom as part of its initiatives for digital transformation in the sector.
The news follow the announcement of the national digital identity and the electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) platform in April 2019. The platform, which was the first of its kind in the region targeting retail banks, financial services providers, and money exchange networks, is operated by BENEFIT in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (IGA) and under the supervision of the CBB.

Apple iOS update will tell you which apps want to share your data. (PA/Canva) Apple has announced further details about the privacy changes in its next iOS update, due later this month. The technology giant announced that from the spring it will require apps on its devices to get a user’s permission before tracking them across other apps and websites. The update follows the introduction of so-called privacy nutrition labels that the company introduced for all apps in its App Store earlier this year. The new feature, called App Tracking Transparency, will enable users to go to their Settings app and see which apps have requested permission to track them, and make any changes as they see fit.
