Eason Horticultural Resources adds five to sales team
Eason Horticultural Resources has announced the addition of four new sales representatives, and one additional member to their sales support team. Included in the sales team additions are Don Blocker, Don Gamsjager, Keith Irlbacher and Steve Stier. Linda Ferrari also joins the organization as a sales support specialist.
As a Kentucky native, Don Blocker has spent most of his career in horticultural sales in Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana. With a BS in Ornamental Horticulture from Eastern Kentucky University, Blocker has held various positions in the green industry over the last 30 years. Before transitioning to EHR, he worked as a field sales representative with McHutchison.
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Department of Education are providing virtual opportunities for agriculture and STEM learning for all ages at the 2021 Farm Show, taking place from Jan. 9 to Jan. 16. Some of these opportunities also allow K-12 students and teachers to meet Pennsylvania academic requirements for environment and ecology or family and consumer sciences.
The 105th Pennsylvania Farm Show is being celebrated virtually this year in light of the COVID-19 public health crisis. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture plans to bring stories of agriculture into homes statewide and explore how to cultivate a brighter tomorrow for Pennsylvaniaâs leading industry.
The Pennsylvania Departments of Agriculture and Education will have opportunities for agriculture and STEM learning for all ages to be featured in the 2021 Farm Show. Several opportunities will help K-12 students and teachers meet Pennsylvania academic requirements for environment and ecology, or family and consumer sciences.
The schedule of daily events includes a live Career Exploration panel discussion, geared toward high school students, featuring a variety of experts in fields including a large-animal veterinarian, a farm manager, a chef, a hydroponic specialist, horticulturist and a service technician for computerized farm equipment.
Virtual hands-on activities will include Plants to the Rescue and Plant Hunt, digital lessons for grades 6 through 8 provided by Seed Your Future career initiative, in partnership with Scholastic, Inc., including lessons titled Water Filtration, Grow Plants from Food Scraps, Tie Dye with Plants, DIY Home Hydroponics and Phototropism: Light Maze.
