Here For Good: Shoobies Are Moving To South Jersey In Droves
It s not like shoobies will ever be a thing of the past for South Jersey, but here s a question for you: what do you call a former shoobie that now lives in our neck of the woods full-time? No, it s not a joke.. I really don t know.
Well, thanks to the pandemic, South Jersey s seeing a lot of that recently. People are moving from both New York and Philadelphia down to our region in an effort to never have to endure that kind of gridlock ever again. Seriously though, can you blame them? We thought we had it a rough time during the lockdown, but imagine not even having a backyard for your little ones to run around in? Also, what about their pets? They were in lockdown, too!
Let me just start off by stating my personal experience.
As someone who suffers from asthma, I can tell you first hand that masks have been rough for those of us that already find it hard to breathe. Is it unbearable for me? No, it s not. Was I able to make it through my daily errands wearing one? I sure was. For me personally, I will even still be wearing one in certain scenarios even now that New Jersey s mandate has been lifted. I, however, know for a fact that those who suffer from asthma worse than me found the last year extremely difficult.
March To End Gun Violence Taking Place In Bridgeton Friday
It seems like victim after victim has fallen prey to gun violence in Cumberland County over the last few months.
There were multiple incidents from the latter months of 2020 through May 2021 that have claimed multiple lives including the mass shooting that took place just last week at a house party in Bridgeton. So far, that shooting alone has claimed three lives in addition to multiple people remaining hospitalized currently in critical condition.

As a result, the community has decided that it s time to raise awareness to the issue that s been plaguing the surrounding towns in Cumberland County. One victim s mother, Jennifer Williams-Crosell took matters into her own hands. She has had plans in motion for weeks now to hold a protest, of sorts, a march to do just that. Planned for Friday, May 28th, Williams-Crosell has organized a march to raise awareness for the issues surrounding gun violence
