Malaysia s daily Covid-19 vaccination rate slips to 217,807 doses on July 3 Izzul Ikram © Provided by The Edge KUALA LUMPUR (July 4): Malaysia administered 217,807 doses of Covid-19 vaccine yesterday (July 3), down from 236,196 vaccine doses administered on July 2, according to data from the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) today. Of the 217,807 doses given out, 141,140 went to first-dose recipients, while the remainders went to 76,667 second-dose recipients, JKJAV shared via Twitter. The seven-day moving average for Covid-19 vaccination stood at 224,822, compared to 220,546 the day before. Also as of yesterday, a total of 8.8 million vaccine doses had been administered so far, with 2.54 million Malaysians or 7.8% of the population fully vaccinated, while 3.72 million or 19.2% had received their first jab.

Of the 236,196 doses given out, 167,059 went to first-dose recipients, while the remaining 69,137 were second doses. The seven-day moving average of the Covid-19 vaccination rate slipped to 220,546, compared with 225,761 on the day before. The government has set a target to administer 300,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine per day in July, and 400,000 shots a day in August.

Pix for representational purpose only. -Bernama KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 8,582,893 doses of vaccines have been administered to the people nationwide as of Friday (July 2) under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK). In a posting on Twitter, the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) said that 2,463,019 people had received their second dose, thus, becoming fully vaccinated. “A total of 236,196 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were given yesterday, involving the administering of 167,059 first doses and 69,137 second doses,“ it said. The five states that recorded the highest numbers of two-dose recipients were Selangor with 333,432 people followed by Johor (258,636); Sarawak (257,408); Kuala Lumpur (221,020) and Perak (219,044).
