O FARRELL, (Uí Fhearghail), Cathleen (née O’Kelly) February 2, 2021 (peacefully) in the tender care of the staff of St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Late of Ballyedmonduff and Ballinteer, in her 92nd year, devoted wife of the late Comdt. Chris O’Farrell, cherished and beloved mother of Éamon and stepmother to Ann, Barbara, Magda, Catherine and the late Liam. Dearly loved sister to the late Liam, Vincent and Marie. Will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Ninbe, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, dear friends, relatives and neighbours. In accordance with government guidance a private family funeral will take place tomorrow (Friday) 10.30 am. and may be viewed on www.ballinteerparish.ie Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, if desired. On Wednesday, St Vincent s had the dubious honour of caring for more Covid patients than any other hospital in the country. Its services are coping but are stretched to its limits, explains Prof Ryan. Essentially, our ICU is full right now. We don t have spare ICU beds. Some could be facilitated if needs be but that s not an ideal situation. It used to be that we all knew someone who had Covid. Now, we all know of someone who died. The next thing, unfortunately, could be that we all know someone in our own family who died.

Almost 30,000 patients removed from outpatient waiting lists in 2020 validation
Validation of outpatient waiting lists paused during 2020 back up and running
Almost 30,000 patients were removed from the national outpatient waiting list as a result of validation carried out during the year.
Between January 1 and the end of December 2020, the latest figures show a total of 29,479 patients were removed from the outpatient waiting list as a result of validation.
The National Centralised Validation Unit within the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF), advised the Department of Health that the validation of the waiting list process, suspended at the end of March 2020 due to Covid-19, recommenced six months ago at the beginning of August.

MURRAY, (née Lovell) Pat (Patricia) (Carrickmines, Dublin 18 and formerly of Calary, Co. Wicklow and Ballymahon, Co. Longford) January 10, 2021. Passed peacefully in her 80th year after a long illness, which she fought bravely and with dignity in the loving care of her family and the staff of St. Vincent’s University Hospital and Blackrock Clinic. Beloved wife of the late Seán Murray (Carrickmines and Taghshinny, Co. Longford) and loving mother of Cathy, Seán and Ed. She will be very sadly missed by her adoring children, grandchildren Millie, George, Max, Seán, Thea, Zara and Emma Jane, loving sister and best friend Niamh, brother, son-in-law Paul, daughters-in-law Lisa and Sarah, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
