A new supersite will be opening in Winnipeg, the second of two vaccination clinics of this size slated for the city.
The COVID-19 Immunization Task Force s plan has included opening multiple supersites in cities, and as soon as May 7, that will be true in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Soccer Federation-Soccer North complex is set to operate like the supersite at the RCB Convention Centre. More super site locations will be announced next week for rural Manitoba.
Those aged 60 or older and First Nations people aged 40 or older are now eligible for their first COVID-19 vaccine appointment. Manitobans who are 65-year-old or older and unable to go to a super site or pop-up clinic can receive the AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine at a pharmacy or medical clinic. Another vaccination super site will soon open to help protect Manitobans from COVID-19. The second super site in Winnipeg will open at the Winnipeg Soccer Federation – Soccer North complex on Leila Avenue as early as May 7. Additional super sites in rural Manitoba will be announced next week.
Appointments
Appointments are currently available at super sites in Winnipeg, Brandon, Thompson, Selkirk and Morden. Eligible individuals can book their appointment at a super site online at protectmb.ca with an email address and their health card number. Appointments for super sites or pop-ups can also be made by calling (toll-free) 1-844-626-8222 (1-844-MAN-VACC).
