Forsyth chosen for mass COVID-19 vaccination site Fairgrounds will likely be used

Barely a month into a mass vaccination campaign to stop the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trump administration unexpectedly shifted gears Tuesday to speed the delivery of shots. A slow start had triggered widespread concern from states and public health officials. Forsyth County has been listed as one of nine communities in North Carolina with a planned mass vaccination site for COVID-19, state Health Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen told legislators Tuesday. The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds is the likely choice of site, Forsyth Manager Dudley Watts said. “We are working on a fairgrounds site and are trying to finalize it” with the county Board of Commissioners, Watts said.
