Shimla, Feb 26 : Five Congress legislators, including Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, were suspended on Friday for the entire Budget session for creating ruckus and allegedly jostling Governor Bandaru Dattatraya when he was leaving the Himachal Pradesh Assembly complex after his address.
Speaker Vipin Parmar informed the house that five Congress MLAs Mukesh Agnihotri, Harsh Varhan Chauhan, Sunder Singh Thakur, Satpal Raizada and Vinay Kumar, were suspended for the entire session till March 20.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya was allegedly manhandled by some Congress members in the Assembly complex on Friday, following which five MLAs were suspended for the remainder of the Budget Session.

Some Congress MLAs allegedly manhandled Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatraya when he was leaving the Assembly after his address on the opening day of the Budget Session on Friday.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said the governor was manhandled when he was going to his vehicle after the session, and moved a motion to suspend five Congress MLAs Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri and MLAs Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, Sunder Singh Thakur, Satpal Raizada and Vinay Kumar.
The Assembly, which was adjourned till 2 pm on Monday earlier in the day, was reconvened at 1 pm on Friday to consider the motion moved by Bhardwaj.
They blocked the Governor’s vehicle
Rowdy scenes were witnessed outside Himachal Pradesh Assembly in Shimla on Friday after the Opposition, Congress, MLAs blocked Governor Bandaru Dattatreya’s vehicle as he was about to leave the complex following his address on the first day of the budget session.
Five Congress MLAs, including Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, were suspended for the rest of the session till March 20. An FIR has been registered against them.
Inside the House, while the Governor was delivering his address, the Opposition members, led by Mr. Agnihotri, said the address did not mention any pivotal issues such as the farmers’ concerns on Centre’s farm laws, spiralling prices and unemployment. As they continued shouting slogans, the Governor ended his speech saying it should be considered as read.
