Picture used for representational purpose only PUNE: As many as 3.6 crore doses of the Covishield vaccine, manufactured by the city-based Serum Institute of India, were dispatched from the Pune airport in April the highest so far and nearly three times the number dispatched in January. As per figures provided by the Pune airport authorities, 1.26 crore doses were transported in January, 1.39 crore in February and 2.03 crore doses in March. Officials said large consignments were being transported this month too. Further, officials said, 2.16 lakh doses were sent from the Pune airport to other countries in February; a chartered flight had carried 18 boxes of the vaccine to Suriname, St Kitts, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua, Barbuda, and St Lucia.
