HANOI, April 24 (Xinhua) Vietnam recorded three new cases of COVID-19 infection on Saturday, raising the total confirmed cases in the country to 2,833, according to the country s Ministry of Health.
The new cases included a foreign expert and two Vietnamese citizens who recently entered the country from abroad and were quarantined upon arrival, said the ministry.
As many as 2,516 patients have been given the all-clear as of Saturday, up 26 from Friday, the ministry said, adding that nearly 39,200 people are being quarantined and monitored.
In a telegram released Friday, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked state agencies and localities across the country to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control measures, including properly dealing with illegal entry amid complicated global epidemic situations, especially in Vietnam s neighboring countries. JAKARTA, April 23 (Xinhua) Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Friday met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who arrived here to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders meeting on Myanmar, and the two discussed bilateral cooperation as well as the situation in Myanmar.
