The new cases included a foreign expert and two Vietnamese citizens who recently entered the country from abroad and were quarantined upon arrival, said the ministry. As many as 2,516 patients have been given the all-clear as of Saturday, up 26 from Friday, the ministry said, adding that nearly 39,200 people are being quarantined and monitored. In a telegram released Friday, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked state agencies and localities across the country to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control measures, including properly dealing with illegal entry amid complicated global epidemic situations, especially in Vietnam s neighboring countries.
