HANOI, April 1 (Xinhua) Vietnam s manufacturing sector rounded up March with marked increases in new orders and output, and cemented business confidence, a report by the London-based global information provider IHS Markit revealed Thursday.
The Vietnam Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) rose to 53.6 in March from 51.6 in February, signaling a solid improvement in the health of the manufacturing sector.
Signs of improving customer demand and success in keeping the COVID-19 pandemic under control helped support rises in new orders and output in March, read the report.
New orders increased for the seventh consecutive month at the fastest pace since July 2019. Improvement in international demand conditions contributed to the remarkable increase in new orders from abroad.
