Illustrative image Under the decision, more than VND7,65 trillion will be allocated to the Ministry of Health to buy and use 61 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine, including 30 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine and 31 million doses of Pfizer vaccine.  The capital will come from the following sources: over VND5.1 trillion from the VND12.1 trillion saved from state budget spending in 2020 and over VND2.5 trillion from the Vietnam Covid-19 Vaccine Fund.

First COVID-19 vaccine death reported in Vietnam 12:20 | 08/05/2021 A health worker in An Giang developed a rare allergic reaction to the COVID-19 vaccination According to Tu Quoc Tuan, director of An Giang Health Department, the victim was a 35-year-old female health worker in the southern province of An Giang. She died a day after the first coronavirus vaccine shot despite treatment. The professional council of the southern province’s health department said she died from allergic reaction known as anaphylaxis due to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug allergy. This is a very rare case after taking COVID-19 vaccination. Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long called the woman’s family and the medical staff of the hospital expressing his condolences.
