At approximately 11 a.m., police were called to the area of St. Rose Avenue and Wyandotte Street East for the reported collision.

The goal of illuminating the busy neighbourhood is to draw people to the area to enjoy a little holiday spirit while supporting local businesses, said Larry Horwitz, chairman of the Wyandotte Town Centre Business Improvement Association.

Charges laid after chase with stolen vehicle and collisions in Windsor

This collision resulted in one person being transported to hospital for non-critical injuries. Again, the suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene. At this point, officers were able to identify the suspect. He was located and arrested in the 5400 block of Wyandotte Street East. The damaged vehicle was also found in the area. Jesse Homenick, 41, of Windsor, has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, theft of a motor vehicle, robbery, uttering threats, failure to remain at the scene of an accident (two counts), failure to comply with a release order, and failure to stop for police. The major crime branch is continuing to investigate the incident.

Windsor man facing eight driving and theft-related charges after allegedly stealing vehicle

  WINDSOR, ONT. A Windsor man is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing a car and crashing it twice while fleeing from officers all in about 15 minutes. Police say around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, officers received a report of a disorderly man inside a business in the 1100 block of California Avenue. When officers arrived, they were told the same man entered a running vehicle with passengers inside. Police say the passengers were able to safely get out of the car before the suspect fled the area at a “high rate of speed.” Officers observed the stolen vehicle around 8:40 p.m. in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Devonshire Road where it collided with another vehicle.
