Windsor is experiencing a not-seen-in-decades surge in applications to build apartment, condo and other multi-residential projects.
Data supplied from the city shows that despite how COVID-19 ravaged some sectors of the local economy in 2020, unprecedented demand for housing and rising prices fuelled a stampede towards city hall as developers submitted 24 multi-residential applications, with a total of more than 2,378 units if they all end up getting built. In previous years, the city averaged around four or five applications with several hundred units.
