Economist at FAU has calculated which strategy is most effective for reducing CO2 emissions - Sonnenseite

© Depositphotos | taraki | Germany aims to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030, and by 2050, it hopes to be largely greenhouse gas neutral. To achieve these ambitious goals, the Federal Government is mainly using subsidies for regenerative energy sources, above all for wind and solar power. 10.02.2021 Economist at FAU has calculated which strategy is most effective for reducing CO2 emissions Energy market researchers at FAU, the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, Switzerland, have been investigating which methods are most effective for reducing the carbon dioxide emissions created when generating electricity. They have come to the conclusion that increasing the price of carbon credits is currently considerably more effective than subsidising renewable energy from wind and solar power. The results of the study have now been published in the Journal of Environmental E

Studio Alt Shift designs California-inspired interiors and furniture for burrito bar in Vienna

The London studio’s designs for Max & Benito aim to evoke a coastal road trip London design practice Studio Alt Shift has designed interiors and furniture for a new location of Max & Benito, the burrito-focused cafe in Vienna. The new space forms part of Vienna’s Austria Campus – an emerging financial and tech hub beside the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Studio Alt Shift’s task was to bring character and a personal touch to an empty space. They did this through taking a narrative that relates to Max & Benito’s Californian-style Mexican cuisine – a road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway – and imbuing the space with this sunny, west coast aesthetic and populating it with souvenir-like objects.

Austria Center Vienna s 113,000 rapid antigen tests over festive season could help provide entry ticket for future events

Austria Center Vienna s 113,000 rapid antigen tests over festive season could help provide entry ticket for future events Since December, the Austria Center Vienna has been supporting the City of Vienna by hosting the nation’s largest coronavirus testing facility. The experience gained could lead to ‘the entry ticket for events’, according to the convention centre’s managing director. In the two weeks in the run-up to Christmas and New Year, around 113,000 rapid tests were conducted at the venue. Heavy demand meant an increase in the number of testing lanes (including walk-in and drive-in), with up to 20 now available. Austria’s largest congress centre is hoping that the system will provide palpable relief for the ailing event industry this year.
