New Delhi, March 10 : In a unique way to support protesting farmers in India, cyber criminals have launched a new ransomware attack in the country that does not ask for money but justice for the community, conveying a message that no data will be recovered until the demands of the farmers are met, a new report revealed on Wednesday.
The ransomware is designed to target entities connected with farmers protests in India, with the hacker group titled Khalsa Cyber Fauj reported to be leading this attack in the country.

Ahmedabad, Jan 1: A `monolith , the likes of which have appeared and vanished in different parts of the world since November, has now emerged in a garden in Ahmedabad city, Gujarat.
This is the first appearance of a monolith, a structure made of shiny steel sheets, in India.
However, unlike in other parts of the world, the mystery around the object did not last long as it was disclosed that a private company has installed it.
The triangular prism-shaped structure, around seven feet tall, became a hit among city dwellers after it was spotted in a garden on SG Highway on Thursday morning.

Healthcare and pharma sector companies that have been in the front lines working to fight against the pandemic in the country are facing a new wave of ransomware attacks and extortion demands lately.
According to the threat prediction 2021 report by Seqrite, an enterprise security solutions brand by Quick Heal Technologies, although few ransomware operators agreed not to attack the healthcare sector during the Covid-19 crisis, several other attack groups have continued to use ransomware against this sector, largely because of the sensitive and personal data of patients they store.
Pandemic acted as a huge opportunity for cyber criminals.
These advancements are likely to continue in the coming year as well.
