Thanks to quick thinking volunteers Marlene Galdo, Joanne Freas, and Evelyn Kidd, 826 baby diamondback terrapin turtles will live to see another day after being rescued from storm drains in Ocean City, Margate, and Ventnor according to NJ.com and the Stockton University Facebook page
The baby turtles used the storm drains for shelter over the long and cold winter season. They survive by eating yolk sacks. After being rescued by volunteers, the diamondback baby terrapins were turned over to Stockton University s Head Start Program for proper care. The turtles will be released back into the wild in about a year.

Here s some information on Angie from the Humane Society of Ocean City. Angie is a beautiful, sleek black cat that is almost 8 years old. Her and her housemate were dropped off at the shelter in June of 2020.

My boyfriend and I are pretty active people anyway, so when the weather starts warming up, that s our time to shine. There is always, however, a downside to the weather getting warmer - the bugs. The worst of them are the mosquitoes.

It sounds like Deet is going to be the new body splash of the season since it s been predicted that this year s going to a rough one for our area in the mosquito department. According to both the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Pests.org, the mosquito forecast for the 2021 summer season isn t looking too great. We ll be dealing with more than the average number of mosquitoes compared to recent years.
