Roxborough Man Accused Of Supplying Meth To Chesco Dealers: DA

The Chester County District Attorney s Office Tuesday announced the arrest of nine people charged in connection with trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, and other drugs bought in Philadelphia and sold in Chester County. Among those charged is Jeremiah Stefan Rafakie Bowens, 28, of Roxborough. Bowens has been charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to deliver, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, criminal use of communication facility, conspiracy, and related charges. Gov Wolf Proposes $145M In COVID-19 Relief For Businesses

Tom Wolf on Wednesday announced a plan to transfer $145 million from the state Workers Compensation Security Fund to the general fund to aid businesses hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak. Wolf expressed hope much of the funds would go to bars restaurants whose operations and profitability have been crippled by the pandemic, although gyms and entertainment venues also would be eligible for the money. But how quickly the those businesses will obtain the financial relief remains to be seen. The grants Wolf proposed have to be authorized by the state Legislature, which is on holiday recess and won t convene again until January.

Four More Western PA Hospitals Get Coronavirus Vaccine Doses

Reply (Shutterstock) UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA Three additional Allegheny County hospitals now have Pfizer s coronavirus vaccine, the state Department of Health announced Tuesday. St. Clair Memorial Hospital in Upper St. Clair, UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital in Oakland have begun distributing the vaccine to health care workers. Additionally, Washington Hospital in Washington also has the vaccine. The four hospitals are among 22 additional hospitals that received 30,255 doses of the vaccine. Currently, 109 hospitals across the state have begun inoculating staff. During a news conference Tuesday, Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley said the city has extended the ban on certain activities through Jan. 15. It s too risky to end the restrictions on Jan. 1 or Jan. 4, Farley said. The city s restrictions were initially planned to end on Jan. 1. The state s restrictions are set to expire on Jan. 4.
