Saginaw Valley State University hires new dean for business college

SAGINAW, MI - Jayati Ghosh will become the next dean of Saginaw Valley State University’s Scott L. Carmona College of Business, according to a news release.
Ghosh most recently served as the dean of Widener University’s School of Business Administration, a private university in Chester, Pennsylvania. She has more than 25 years of higher education experience at institutions both public and private, according to the release. She’ll officially join the university Monday, June 28.
Ghosh holds a doctorate from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, as well as master’s degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario and the University of Calcutta in India.

Waterloo-based Equitable Life of Canada has announced the creation of an endowment at Wilfrid Laurier University, to honour the retirement of Equitable Life CEO and President, Ron Beettam.
The endowment will support students in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. At Equitable Life of Canada, we believe in giving back to the communities where we live and work, Doug Alexander, Chair of the Board of Directors for Equitable Life of Canada, explained in a news release. This gift recognizes our ongoing commitment to producing the next generation of business leaders who understand the power of ethical business to make a positive impact.
