WILMINGTON On Saturday, Feb. 20, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office deputy and the Wilmington Police Department Mobile Field Force pulled over a vehicle for a tinted window violation. It was in the 100 block of S. 17th Street, and all three occupants were asked to exit for a search because of their criminal history.
Officers found a stolen .45 caliber handgun in the waistband of 18-year-old Aiwon Davis and arrested him. Davis also is on probation for three charges from March 2020: conceal carry weapon (CCW), discharging a firearm in city limits, and possession of a firearm by a minor. He was charged with possession of stolen firearm, CCW, and probation violation, and is being held under a $10,000 secured bond.
