It is a strange feeling when you wake up in a country where those elected to govern no longer stand for the rule of law or even have any principles. A nation once renowned for its democratic governance has now been brought low by a political party desperate to remain relevant.
"I understand Cramer and Hoeven’s cowardice. They fear Trump. They don’t want to be censured by North Dakota Republicans. They don’t want to have primary opponents. Still, they chose their self-interests over doing the right thing for their country."
When we serve as jurors, we are legally obligated to decide innocence or guilt based on the instructions to the jury. We don’t get to declare instructions we do not like to be unconstitutional, do whatever satisfies our own wants and then declare that defying the court’s instructions is serving the Constitution.
