William Byrd High School to hold COVID-19 vaccine clinic Friday for students 16+

VINTON, Va. – Some Vinton students have the opportunity to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday.
Roanoke County Public Schools and the Roanoke City & Alleghany Health Districts are teaming up to hold a vaccine clinic at William Byrd High School for students ages 16 and older, according to a message sent to parents.
Health officials will administer the Pfizer vaccine, which has been approved for people age 16 and older.
The shots will only be available for William Byrd High School students. However, school officials said this will be an optional clinic that will take place on April 23 during the school day.
