With confirmation this week that Pennsylvania will lose a congressional seat and an electoral vote in upcoming elections, the struggle for a favorable map has already begun.
It’s unlikely that any of the Central or Southwestern Pennsylvania Republicans will lose a seat in redistricting the process of drawing a new map that
reflects the new electoral reality. With the GOP solidly in control of the House, the lawmakers who draw congressional maps will be unwilling to punish their own party.
Instead, they could draw a map to rope two Democrats into a new district, potentially pitting them against each other and ending the state’s current 9-9 partisan divide in the U.S. House of Representatives.

State Sen. Gene Yaw, R-Loyalsock Township, state Rep. Jeff Wheeland, R-Loyalsock Township, and state Rep. Joe Hamm, R-Hepburn Township, announced several significant investments for Lycoming County through the Commonwealth Financing Authority on Wednesday.
“I was pleased to advocate for all of these projects approved today by the CFA,” Yaw said, according to a news release. “Our legislative advocacy is strong and we are fortunate to have many good local officials who are forward thinking in planning these projects, cleaning up our environment and promoting economic growth for our region. These investments have a positive impact for all residents.”
In Williamsport, the Economic and Community Growth Corp. has been awarded $200,000 as part of a transition of a blighted brownfield property into a multi-field, regional baseball and softball complex. The project consists of excavation of the brownfield, construction of the site into a multi-field sports complex. The
