Steven P. Welteroth, 70, of Williamsport, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
He was born on February 6, 1950, in Williamsport, the son of Frances (Eugene) Perchinski and Robert (Gretchen) Welteroth, Sr.
Steven attended Williamsport High School and Williamsport Area Community College where he received an associate’s degree as a tinsmith. Steven served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1972. He then started his career as a tinner at AVCO, later named Textron Lycoming Engines until he retired in 2012.
Steven was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Reba (Grieco) Welteroth; his parents and two brothers, Bud H. Perchinski and Randy L. Perchinski.

Louis E. “Lou” Hunsinger Sr., 86, of Williamsport, died at home on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, surrounded by his loving family and friends after an extended illness. He was born June 23, 1934 in Williamsport, a son of the late Bruce H. and Helen (Hawk) Hunsinger. On May 26, 1956, he married Doris Nance, who survives.
Lou graduated from Williamsport High School, Class of 1952 and from the Williamsport Technical Institute in 1959 with a degree in business management. He was honored by Williamsport Area Community College as “Alumnus of the Year” in 1977.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 57 and the Civil Air Patrol from 1949 to 1980. He served as squadron commander of CAP Squadron 401 from 1966 to 1970, before being promoted to Group 40 Staff, and later as a member of the Pennsylvania Wing Staff. WILLIAMSPORT-PPL Electric Utilities is donating $8,000 through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program to Pennsylvania College of Technology in support of Penn College NOW, a dual enrollment program.
The Penn College Foundation is approved as an Educational Improvement Organization under the EITC program administered by the state Department of Community & Economic Development.
PPL has been a Penn College EITC partner since 2012 and has provided financial support to the college or its predecessor institution, Williamsport Area Community College, since 1985.
Penn College NOW enables academically qualified high school and career technology center students to take tuition-free courses for college credit. Last year, 1,700 students earned more than 6,800 credits valued at more than $3.8 million through Penn College NOW.
