The maiden flight of American Airlines AA5011 from Williamsport to Charlotte taxis out to the runway under a water cannon salute and a rainbow in mid-August at the Williamsport Regional Airport.
American Airlines, which left the Williamsport Regional Airport in late 2020, will begin running commercial passenger flights to and from Philadelphia next Wednesday.
Airport Executive Director Richard Howell told the Williamsport Sun-Gazette the recent approval of federal COVID-19 relief funding includes money for airports, thus convincing American to resume service.
But “we would rather still be going to Charlotte and we will continue to work on that,” he emphasized.

There are words to describe 2020 that you probably donât want to hear again:
unprecedented, trying, difficult (as, âin these unprecedented, trying, and difficult timesâ¦â). How about âpandemic,â mandate, and âsocial distancingâ a particularly irksome oxymoron, as one canât be physically social and distant at once.
But itâs true that the year was all of those things. Itâs impossible to look back over the year without finding COVID-19 s trespass everywhere.
This is an astonishing look back at how the virus invaded our community, our news feeds, our relationships, our habits, and our lives.

Donald Trump Is Walking A Fine Line Of Treason, Former Presidential Candidate Says
Former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Richard Neece Ojeda II took aim at Donald Trump on Thursday for his opposition to the 2020 election results and support of the Washington, D.C., protests expected on January 6 when Congress ratifies Democrat Joe Biden s Electoral College victory. Walk that fine line of treason, Ojeda tweeted to the president s promotion of the January 6 protests. In the end, you will see your last days as penniless and in a cell. You will forever be known as the most corrupt, dumbest, cruelest and most incompetent president ever. Your children will lose everything too and will forever hate their name!

Nov. 10 Veterans Memorial Park wouldn’t have evolved without the kind donations and support of thousands of people over the years, according to local veterans who have overseen its development over the past quarter century. “It’s what put the park here,” said Howard Wilt, a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and chairman of the Veterans Memorial Park Commission.
