Airs Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 6 p.m. Gynecologic cancers do not receive the press that some other types of cancer receive, but talking about them can save the lives of women. Tune in for Health Matters, Thursday at 6 p.m. Dr. Sanford Katz will be joined by gynecologic oncologist Dr. Destin Black, Dr. Maxwell McDonald, medical oncologist, and Dr. Lane Rosen, radiation oncologist, all with Willis-Knighton Health System, to talk about gynecologic cancer signs, symptoms and treatments. SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - LSU Health Shreveport’s Center for Emerging Viral Threats (CEVT) is adding additional dates for citizens age 70 and over to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine during the week of Feb. 1.
The additional dates are Monday, Feb. 1, Tuesday, Feb. 2, and Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Fair Grounds Field.
COVID-19: Answers to your questions about vaccinations at Fair Grounds
Vaccines will be administered through drive-thru stations from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Starting on Tuesday, Feb. 2 until Thursday, Feb. 4, second doses will be administered. Those who received a vaccine at the State Fair Grounds on Jan. 12-14 should report back for their second dose 21 days after their first. Only those who received their first dose at the State Fair Grounds can receive their second dose there.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Willis-Knighton Health System is joining LSU Health Shreveport in an effort to help distribute the COVID-19 vaccine to the community.
On Wednesday, Jan. 27, they will deliver 1,950 doses to LSU Shreveport.

“I think this is just a great collaborative effort. One of the things that we have in the Shreveport-Bossier community is great healthcare, whether that’s here at Willis-Knighton or LSU Health or CHRISTUS, and coming together and those three entities joining together to make sure the vaccines are available, readily accessible, easily accessible only made too much sense,” he said.
