After one day of pool testing, Binghamton University’s COVID-19 testing procedure has reverted back to the BD Veritor antigen nasal swab COVID-19 test utilized during the fall 2020 semester.
All students, faculty and staff who visit campus regularly are still mandated to be tested weekly, according to Ryan Yarosh, senior director of media and public relations at BU. Yarosh added that testing results will continue to be reported back to SUNY as well as all other appropriate agencies daily, but registration through the SUNY Upstate website is no longer required.
United Health Services has launched a website to help people track down COVID-19 vaccination locations.
The site is www.nyuhs.org/southerntiervax. and lists pharmacies, hospitals and healthcare providers county-by-county and how to make an appointment.
UHS is the Southern Tier region’s coordinator for vaccinations.

Broome County Health Department officials have commented that many times they don’t get word in advance when pharmacies in the region get the vaccine or how many shots they have been allocated.
County, state and retail locations for vaccinations are finding their appointments for eligible populations quickly fill up. Often appointments for hundreds of doses of vaccine are snapped up in a matter of minutes.
