Graco Recalling Another Baby Accessory
This past Wednesday, Graco announced a recall of about 51,000 inclined sleeper accessories over a potential suffocation risk to infants.
WZZM reported an advisory sent out by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the inclined sleeper accessory was included in the Graco Pack ‘n Play Day2Dream Playard with Bedside Sleeper, Graco Pack ‘n Play Nuzzle Nest Playard, Graco Pack ‘n Play Everest Playard and Graco Pack ‘n Play Rock ‘n Grow Playard.
The inclined sleeper is the only portion of those products being recalled, consumers can still use the other items.
The recall notice warned that infant fatalities could be possible if an infant rolled from their back to their stomach while unrestrained. However, there haven t been any reports of incidents or injuries at this time from this particular accessory.

Argument over lack of support for £3.5m Children’s Services cash injection as ‘maths’ and process challenged again by Labour group
The Lead Member of Children’s Services condemned the Labour group on Wrexham council for not raising questions over the department before rejecting a budget that will see £3.5m injected into the service.
Members of the Safeguarding, Communities & Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee were examining the reasons why Children’s Services are reporting an overspend of £5.9m for eight months of the financial year, a topic that has had two recent heated debates.
One such debate came during the formal setting of the council’s budget, that had a £3.5m cash injection earmarked for the service. The budget passed Council, however the Labour group did not support it, citing the questions around the overspend as to why.

A Hackney children’s charity has been praised by the local council for the positive impact they have made on the community during the pandemic.
Hackney Play, which is funded by organisations including Hackney Council and Children in Need and runs adventure playgrounds at Homerton Grove and Pearson Street, has remained a hub for activities for 6-15’s during the difficulties of the last 12 months.
The tweet by Hackney Council said: ‘Thank you to all our staff caring for children & young people throughout the pandemic, & providing them with places to play, including over the half-term break – bringing hope, creativity & a great sense of fun!’

After a nine-day run of daily high temperatures, mostly in the mid- and upper 40s with a record of 55 degrees on Feb. 19, area residents were stunned this week to see another 11 inches of wind-whipped snow fall in less than 24 hours. Travel conditions in central and western North Dakota were difficult, but eastern North Dakota received the brunt of the storm, resulting in the closure of I-94 from Jamestown to Fargo. This winterâs snowfall now stands at 54.8 inches. The record snowfall received was 91.8 inches during the winter of 1993-94.
Jeremy Trnka, son of David and Maureen Trnka, a sixth-grader at St. Joseph Grade School, has won the school level competition of the National Geography Bee, answering oral questions on geography. School winners are eligible to participate in the State Bee at the end of March.
