New Delhi, May 3 : The Indian men s hockey team participation in the upcoming FIH Hockey Pro League matches in Spain and Germany is doubtful due to a spike in coronavirus in the country, an official attached with the national team said on Monday. Since Germany has restricted travellers from India, as of now, due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, it could be difficult to compete in the Hockey Pro League matches in Hamburg on May 22 and 23, the official told IANS.

New Delhi, May 2 : Boxing Federation of India (BFI) high performance director Santiago Nieva s proposal to shift the national camp to Italy to prepare the men and women s teams for this month s Asian Boxing Championships has not been cleared by BFI executive board, said a top official on Sunday. During a BFI executive board online meeting last Friday, the expert from Sweden had proposed to hold a camp in Italy. But it wasn t approved as we think it is better to stay in India and train, the BFI official, who was present in the meeting, told IANS.

NEW DELHI, May 1: India gymnast Pranati Nayak, who had claimed a bronze in vault at the Asian Artistic Gymnastic Championships in 2019, is set to compete at the Tokyo Olympics after qualifying through the continental quota.
The 26-year-old from West Bengal is the second reserve behind Sri Lanka’s Elpitiya Badalge Dona Milka Geh for the Asian quota and became eligible to compete from the zone following the cancellation of the 9th Senior Asian Championships, which was scheduled to be held from May 29-June 1 in Hangzhou, China, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
