The Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal made by Youth and Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa to enter into two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) on Youth Development, Co-cabinet Spokesman Plantations Minister Dr Ramesh Pathirana said.
Accordingly, a Cabinet approval has been granted to enter MoUs on Youth Development with the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation to develop mutually beneficial and long lasting cooperation in the formulation of policies aimed at the development of the youth community.

Wed, Dec 16, 2020, 11:09 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. Dec 16, Colombo: With the opening of the country to tourists, the Ministries of Tourism, Sports and Health will formulate a joint program to develop the sports-based tourism industry, Minister of Tourism Prasanna Rantunga said.
Accordingly, a high level committee consisting of the Secretaries of the three Ministries has been appointed to implement sports programs based on the development of the tourism industry next year.
This was discussed at length at a special discussion held at the Ministry of Tourism Monday to formulate joint programs of the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Health to open the country to tourists and to develop the tourism industry based on sports.
