The offence falls under the category of wrongful communication of information under the Official Secrets Act, the police said on Sunday (May 30). The police said they received a report on May 18 that information pertaining to the suspension of sport, physical activity classes and programmes catering to children and youth aged 18 and below had been leaked to the public. The suspension was to take effect from May 19 to June 13.

The 32-year-old man was arrested on May 19 for wrongful communication of information under the Official Secrets Act, the police said in a statement on Sunday (May 30). The police said they received a report on May 18 that information pertaining to the suspension of sport, physical activity classes and programmes for children and youth aged 18 and below from May 19 to June 13 had been leaked to the public. The man, who is a public servant and an authorised recipient of the safe management measures for sport and physical activities, allegedly shared the information via the messaging app on May 16 with members of a private chat group.
