Sports Entertainment Network expands to Tasmania with three new stations
Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has launched across Tasmania, announcing three new radio signals and a local content strategy spearheaded by two homebred sporting heroes.
Locals can now tune into a localised version of the network, known as 1629SEN Hobart, on 1629 AM and the SEN app.
The network has also secured distribution for its SENTrack format to launch in northern Tasmanian towns Launceston and Devonport, which is available on 1611 AM and the SEN app.
SEN has also announced that Australian cricket captain Tim Paine and three-time Richmond premiership player Jack Riewoldt would help lead the Tasmanian station’s content strategy.
Podcast downloads stay high at 49.9m following a month of lockdowns

Podcast downloads in the month of June took a very slight dip to 49.9 million, following last months record high of 52.2 million, as reported by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.
There was significant movement at the top end of the show rankings, as only Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime podcast holding on to top spot and ARN/iHeartMedia’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show in fourth spot, following their record breaking recent radio survey, remained in the same spot as last month.
Elsewhere in the top ten, SCA/LiSTNR’s Hamish & Andy show rose into the second spot, switching places with ARN/iHeartMedia’s Stuff You Should Know dropping to third. ARN/iHeartMedia’s Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne took the fifth spot, giving the ARN/iHeartPodcast Network Australia three of the five top spots. Schwartz Media’s 7am podcast dropped down to seventh.
Hamish & Andy jumps to #2 on Podcast Ranker
Hamish & Andy podcast has climbed to #2 on the Australian Podcast Ranker for the month of June.
This places the podcast only behind Audioboom’s
Casefile True Crime, which has sales representation from ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network.
Hamish & Andy replaced
The Kyle & Jackie O Show held onto #4.
ARN’s
Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne snuck up one spot to round out the top five.
Big movers this month included SCA’s
Triple M Rocks Footy NRL, which jumped 11 spots to #16,
The National Briefing (up 16 spots to #22), ARN’s
The Herd with Colin Cowherd (up 22 spots to #37), and
