NEW DELHI: As the ongoing farmers agitation entered the 15th day on Thursday, the central government offered to meet again with leaders of tens of thousands of farmers who have been blockading key highways for two weeks, but rejected their demand for the repeal of three laws on agricultural reform.
The farmer leaders, on the other hand, are adamant on intensifying the protests further to press for repeal of three farm laws. At a joint press conference on the Singhu border, the farmer leaders also said that agriculture is a state subject and Centre has no right to make such laws.
