Farmers who are protesting at Delhi borders for the past 55 days say they will go ahead with their proposed tractor rally on Republic Day. The farmers unions have assured that they will hold a peaceful parade on the outer ring road in the national capital and added that there will be no disruption on the Republic Day parade. Thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, are protesting at various border points of Delhi for over a month now against the three agri reform laws. PTI

The ninth round of talks between protesting farmer unions and three central ministers got underway in Delhi on January 15 to break the over-a-month-long deadlock on the three new agri reform laws. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railways, Commerce and Food Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Parkash, who is an MP from Punjab, are holding the talks with the representatives of around 40 farmer unions at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Thiruvananthapuram: At the moment, the farmers of the country are battling the bitter cold weather and sitting on a protest around Delhi against the farm laws that were passed by the central government. A lot of support poured in from various parts of the country. Many Punjabi actors and singers joined the protestors and showed their solidarity.
Now, a 22-year-old man named Jibin George will be joining as well. Hailing from Kerala, he has decided to cycle from Thiruvananthapuram to Jammu and Kashmir, where he will also make a stop at the Delhi borders to stand with the farmers.
