Governor Gretchen Whitmer has teamed up with the governors of six other states, both Republican and Democrat, to promote the COVID-19 vaccines. They released a joint video Friday.
“Let’s talk about how we can put the COVID-19 pandemic behind us and move forward together for a sense of normalcy,” Whitmer says.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said there’s one way we can get back to normalcy.
“So far, over 210 million shots have been given to 130 million Americans and counting,” Walz says.
The governors note the vaccine is free. Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb urged those who have been vaccinated to share their experiences with others. To date, 49.6% of Michiganders have received their initial dose of the vaccine, and 37.2% of Michiganders have received their completed dose. Also joining in for Friday’s video were Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
