Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is about to see another challenge to his response efforts to the COVID-19 Pandemic. According to news sources, more than two dozen lawmakers are backing a resolution to end the state wide mask mandate from Evers office. Their issue with the mask mandate is less about the health effects (or lack thereof) but rather whether or not Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has overstepped his executive powers. The resolution matches similar actions and questions in regards to how the governors office has handled the pandemic.

GREEN BAY, Wis. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says the state won’t see a lag in its coronavirus response despite losing its health secretary designee to Joe Biden’s administration.
“Andrea Palm did an outstanding job for us as Secretary of Health Services in the state of Wisconsin,” Gov. Evers said during an event in Green Bay Monday. “She’s a consummate public servant, she always worked hard for the people.”
“We hate to lose her, but she’s done an outstanding job for us,” Evers continued. “We always felt very, very confident in her work.”

Governor Gretchen Whitmer and some colleagues are urging the federal government to do more to acquire doses of the COVID019 vaccine and to allow states to make direct purchases of doses. The governor’s office has released the following:
Today, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz sent a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar expressing their frustrations with the Trump administration’s botched COVID-19 vaccine distribution and urged him to grant permission for states to directly purchase doses of the safe and effective vaccine. The governors also urged the Trump administration to purchase as many doses of the safe and effective vaccine as possible so states can get more shots in arms in the coming weeks.
