Active cases of COVID-19 took the lead over recoveries on Thursday as reported by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. 12 of 103 test returns received by the DPH were positive, while 6 persons recovered, leaving 117 actively battling the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Hospitalizations, meanwhile, were halved, and two persons are now being so treated in Sheboygan County. 13,759 in all have experienced an infection of the coronavirus, and 142 have lost their battle.
As the day-by-day numbers can vary widely, the two-week activity levels are offered as a better measure of the course of the pandemic, and in Sheboygan County, those metrics have changed little. The Burden of 94.3 cases per 100,000 has not budged in the last week, there’s no significant change in trajectory, and the activity level is “High”.
The Difference Between Wisconsin s Confirmed and Probable COVID-19 Data
Efforts to count coronavirus cases and deaths around the state indicate the varying degrees of certainty that can be attributed to individual circumstances as public health agencies keep up with day-to-day rhythms of the pandemic.
Every day of every week of every month since the start of the pandemic including weekends and holidays, and with the exception of only a single day due to a technical upgrade the Wisconsin Department of Health Services issues data detailing pandemic metrics for every county in the state. These daily updates include figures about vaccinations, testing, new cases, hospitalizations and deaths, with additional specifics about each in terms of geography, age and other demographics.
Note: All numbers are cumulative since data started being reported in early 2020, unless otherwise noted. DH
Kenosha County Public Heath is reporting 15,679 total positive COVID-19 test results in Kenosha County as of Thursday. That’s 25 more than Wednesday. There have been 305 COVID-19 deaths in Kenosha County. Kenosha County Public Health is reporting 78,456 negative test results.
Wisconsin Department of Health Services is reporting a positive rate of 9,329/100,000 people and a 2.0 percent case fatality rate in Kenosha County as of Thursday.
In Kenosha County, 39.60 percent of the population has had at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 34.44 percent are fully vaccinated as of Thursday, reports Kenosha County Public Health.

MADISON, Wis. – After a busy day, 565 people got a COVID-19 vaccine shot at Thursday’s News 3 Now Vaccine events.
A total of 304 doses were administered the News 3 Now station, with at least 210 going to kids 12 to 15 years old. At William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park, 261 doses were given. Although the final tally is still being calculated, many of the people who received a vaccine there were also in the 12 to 15 age range.
“We heard it this morning, so we decided you know what, right after school today we’re going to run out here and get it done and get moving on with life,” Brian Leslie said. “This will be a summer of change.”
