MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin rose by 721 on Tuesday, May 4, for a total of 600,297, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
State health officials reported 11 new deaths Tuesday, with a total of 6,850 deaths in the state.
Of the positive cases, 29,527 have required hospitalization (4.9%), while 583,871 have recovered (97.4%, making for 8,600 active cases (1.4%).
More than 2.8 million have tested negative.
More than 3.4 million have been tested.

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) Over 600,000 Wisconsinites have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since March of last year.
The latest numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services show that 600,297 people have been diagnosed with the virus in the state, 6,850 have died. Â The seven-day average is at 633, down from Monday.
DHS also reported that 4,497,245 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given to over 2 million Wisconsinites.

The first year we started this blood drive, Zevi was very, very ill, and he said, I’d like to do a big blood drive, said Evelyn Greenberger, Zevi s aunt.
Eight years ago, Rabbi Zevi Silver was diagnosed with cancer, and he requested his friends and family hold a blood drive.
