WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) Gov. Tony Evers on Friday, Dec. 18, with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced that the Alternate Care Facility (ACF) in West Allis will be opening an outpatient Bamlanivimab Infusion Clinic on Tues., Dec. 22.
A news release from Gov. Evers office says, Bamlanivimab was authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in November for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 in adult and pediatric patients. The clinic will be open seven days a week, except for Christmas Day and New Years’ Day.
“We opened the alternative care facility to make sure folks can get the care they need and relieve some of the stress on our hospitals,” said Gov. Evers. “We are always open to new ways we can evolve the ACF to meet Wisconsin’s needs and opening this new infusion clinic is another piece to that puzzle.”

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) on Friday, Dec. 18 reported 3,235 new, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state bringing the total number of cases to date to 451,676.
The DHS also reported 4,315 deaths related to COVID-19 in Wisconsin an increase of 60 from Thursday.
There are eight COVID-19 patients at the alternate care facility at Wisconsin State Fair Park as of Friday.
Among those who have tested positive for COVID-19, 19,930 have required hospitalization (4.4%) and 408,367 have recovered (90.4%). There are 38,892 active cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin (8.6%), according to the DHS.
