Two candidates for 89th District Assembly seat emerge

Debbie Jacques Jacques, who ran unsuccessfully for the Green Bay City Council in 2018, announced her candidacy Sunday evening on Facebook, saying she wants to be “your voice” in Madison. Jacques also said she supports opening small businesses and schools safely and protecting “our precious resources, especially our water.” She owns and manages Under the Lights of Lambeau, a Packers-themed rental property on Oneida Street near the stadium. Jacques lives in the other half of the duplex, which is not in the district. However, she said she’s been looking to expand the business and move to the Howard-Suamico area. She would only need to reside in the district by the time of taking office.
