ACTIVE COUNTY COVID CASES CONTINUE TO SHRINK, OVER 50K COUNTY RESIDENTS HAVE NOW RECEIVED AT LEAST ONE SHOT

By Kevin Zimmermann May 14, 2021 | 4:12 PM The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County continued on a slow downward trend this week, as Friday’s update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported 108 cases in Sheboygan County.  Of the 57 test results received, 3 were positive, raising the running case total to 13,762.  With 12 recoveries, the active case total declined by 9, while an additional 2 persons required hospitalization for treatment, raising the county’s COVID-19 patient population to 4. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recorded 513 more positive tests for COVID-19 since Thursday, raising the running case total to 605,376.  There was 1 more death attributed to the coronavirus, and the state’s toll now stands at 6,954.  65 more persons needed to be hospitalized, and after accounting for deaths and discharges, the state’s patient population according to the Wisconsin Hospitals Association saw a net gain of

ACTIVE COVID CASES CREEP AHEAD, NEW GUIDANCE FROM CDC FOR FULLY-VACCINATED INDIVIDUALS

By Kevin Zimmermann May 13, 2021 | 4:59 PM Active cases of COVID-19 took the lead over recoveries on Thursday as reported by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health.  12 of 103 test returns received by the DPH were positive, while 6 persons recovered, leaving 117 actively battling the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  Hospitalizations, meanwhile, were halved, and two persons are now being so treated in Sheboygan County.  13,759 in all have experienced an infection of the coronavirus, and 142 have lost their battle. As the day-by-day numbers can vary widely, the two-week activity levels are offered as a better measure of the course of the pandemic, and in Sheboygan County, those metrics have changed little.  The Burden of 94.3 cases per 100,000 has not budged in the last week, there’s no significant change in trajectory, and the activity level is “High”.

By Kevin Zimmermann May 5, 2021 | 3:54 PM Another Sheboygan County resident at least 80 years old has fallen victim to COVID-19, the 141st recorded in the course of the pandemic here.  Of the casualties, one has been between 10 and 19 years old, three were in their 30s, five were in their 40s, five were in their 50s, twenty-two were in their 60s, thirty one were in their 70s, and seventy-four were 80 or older. Only one positive test was confirmed out of 97 results received since Tuesday, raising the running total cases found to 13,698.  With 5 recoveries, the active case count fell to 123, and another hospitalization raises the patient population to 2.
