Milwaukee Auto Show moves to Wisconsin State Fair Park: Report

MILWAUKEE â The annual Milwaukee International Truck and Car Show has been moved to Wisconsin State Fair Park May 5 through May 9, 2021, the Milwaukee Business Journal reports.
The Automobile Dealers Association of Metro Milwaukee usually hosts the show at the Wisconsin Center, but ADAMM president Jim Tolkan tells the BizJournal that the change in venues was necessary. He says the Wisconsin Center District could not accommodate the auto show s new dates amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wisconsin State Fair s Exposition Center is currently being used as Wisconsin s alternate care facility during the pandemic. The association was told that the alternate care facility will no longer be operating at the fairgrounds come May, according to the BizJournal.

The COVID-19 pandemic decimated travel across the globe, and Milwaukee’s first hostel was not immune to the effects. Cream City Hostel closed its doors earlier this year amidst the travel slowdown.
But the building at 500 E. Center St. didn’t go dark. Bader Philanthropies is backing a new cooperative housing model built from the hostel’s infrastructure. The organization is providing a low-interest $450,000 loan to support the building’s conversion and retire existing debt. Milwaukee Area Cohousing is providing support on the conversion.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Doug Johnson has been named the new executive director of the BancorpSouth Arena & Conference Center in Tupelo.
He comes to Tupelo after serving in various leadership roles in Wisconsin, such as managing concerts, conferences and sporting events for the Wisconsin Center District in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
