Wyboston Lakes Resort and its partner Ride Leisure, a water sports and land activity centre based at the Bedfordshire venue, has reportedly been receiving enquiries from businesses for outdoor team building and corporate events since it re-opened for groups of six people on 12 April. From 17 May, the size of groups at the Aqua Park for outdoor and socially distanced activities will increase to 30 people, in line with the government’s lockdown roadmap, with drinks and food available indoors for parties of six people. Sales director at Wyboston Lakes Resort, Richard Smith, said: “We’ve never before experienced such a huge demand for these team building activities – it’s at an all-time high.

Wyboston Lakes Resort has reported business is building momentum after a tough year during the pandemic. In the three weeks since the Prime Minister’s roadmap announcement, the sales team have received 96 enquiries for new events worth almost £1.8m - with 54 of these coming through in the last week alone, totaling £1.2m. The majority of these enquiries are for 2021. HBAA strengths its leadership with the appointment of two venue sector advisors

The positions have been created to represent the depth and breadth of the HBAA’s venue community and they bring their voice and influence to HBAA’s board strategy and activities. They join David Taylor, formerly managing director of Grass Roots Meetings & Events and a non-executive chairman of BCD Meetings & Events, who was appointed as an advisor at the end of last year.
