According to the Food Network, Amber Leverette is a successful bartender at Weaverville s Twisted Laurel, but she s a hot mess in the kitchen.
According to the show, Amber has ruined Thanksgiving dinner three years in a row.
Worst Cooks in America features Chef Carla Hall facing off against Chef Anne Burrell to see who can transform their team of kitchen disasters into culinary masters.
The recruit who makes the most impressive culinary transformation wins the $25,000 grand prize during the show s Sunday, Febrary 28 finale.
Chad Dorril Memorial Scholarship Fund Established, Donations Welcome Published: 11 January 2021
Friends of the family of Appalachian State sophomore Chad Dorrill have created a scholarship fund in his name.
Chad Dorril, 19 years old, died September 28 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem due to COVID-19 complications.
The Watauga Democrat reports the Chad Dorrill Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in part by friend of the family Zach Nichols. According to the report, Nichols stated that Chad’s legacy could live on and be able to give opportunities to other kids who are seeking to continue their education.
Over the next 10 years, two high school students from Davidson County, where Dorrill lived until 2013, will be awarded a scholarship each year.

Fatal Collision Friday In Ashe Published: 11 January 2021
The NC Highway Patrol Friday morning responded to a fatal collision in Ashe County NC 16 near Shatley Road.
The Ashe Post and Times reports a 2001 Ford Ranger was traveling north on NC 16, ran off the road to the left, traveled down an embankment, and overturned.
The driver, David Oscar Osbourne, 74, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., succumbed to his injuries at the scene. There were no passengers. Osbourne was not wearing a seat belt.
According to the report, the initial investigation does not indicate impairment to be a contributing factor. It was snowing at the time of the crash.
