KKR backed Virescent Infrastructure has floated the first infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) in the green power space. It will be a private Invit for which they have sought the approval for the Securities Exchange of India. It is in the process of acquiring a portfolio of operational solar assets of close to 76 MWp at different locations including Patan (Gujarat), Jodhpur (Rajasthan) and Mohaba (Uttar Pradesh). The power purchase agreements (PPAs) for these assets are with state-owned counterparties. These assets would be vested in the InvIT. The InvIT aims to achieve approximately 1.5 GW of assets in the next two to three years.

Port Blair (Andaman and Nicobar Islands) [India], January 27 (ANI): In a move to curb air pollution on the island, Retired Admiral D K Joshi, the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on Tuesday flagged-off a fleet of electric buses.
A press release by the Ministry of Power stated, The project for 40 electric buses is being executed by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN Limited), a 100 per cent subsidiary of NTPC Limited, a public sector undertaking (PSU) under Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The introduction of electric buses in the Island union territory will help cut down tail pipe emissions as well as provide comfortable public transport.
Andaman and Nicobar gets first fleet of electric buses
January 26, 2021 Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, D K Joshi, flagged-off an inaugural fleet of electric buses on Tuesday.
A total of 40 electric buses have been procured and are being supplied to the archipelago by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC. Fourteen of them were flagged off on Tuesday.
The introduction of electric buses in the union territory will help cut down tailpipe emissions and refurbish public transport, NTPC said. This is the first fleet of electric buses that the firm has supplied. NVVN is also developing charging infrastructure in multiple cities across the country, the statement added.
