The Podium Daily Begins Episodes July 23 with the Opening Ceremony
STAMFORD, Conn. – May 4, 2021 – NBC Olympics has launched The Podium, a weekly podcast series taking listeners inside this summer’s Tokyo Olympics. The first episode of The Podium is available now and is produced by NBC Sports Audio in collaboration with Boombox Group.
The Podium, hosted by Lauren Shehadi, explores stories that have come to define past Olympic Games and will ultimately shape the Summer Games in Tokyo. Throughout the 12-episode series, with new episodes dropping each Tuesday in the leadup to the Tokyo Olympics this summer, Shehadi speaks with athletes and experts who have first-hand Olympic experience.

NBCUniversal is making an unprecedented commitment to the Paralympics with a record 1,200 hours of programming and six months of promotion for the Tokyo Paralympic Games, which take place August 24-September 5, 2021. In its most ambitious effort ever, NBCUniversal’s Paralympic Games coverage, which will once again be presented by Toyota, will include more than 200 hours of television coverage across NBC, NBCSN and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA; the first-ever primetime hours on NBC; the debut of coverage on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock; live coverage of the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony on NBCSN; and comprehensive live streaming coverage on NBC Sports digital platforms.
