The GOP isn t big enough for Jews and Marjorie Taylor Greene - U S News

Follow Feb. 3, 2021 Despite all they disliked about him, the overwhelming majority of Jewish conservatives were ready to live with the fact that the Republicans had become Donald Trump’s party. Or at least they were, until the Capitol riot discredited him in the eyes of most Americans - even if the GOP base wants no part of either the effort to impeach him or to repudiate his presidency. But living with the GOP becoming Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s party is quite another thing. Yet as Republicans ponder how to deal with the furor that has arisen over the Georgia congresswoman’s record of support for the QAnon cult and bizarre conspiracy-mongering, the approximately 30 percent of American Jewish voters who cast their ballots for Trump last November have found themselves in an impossible position.

SD Rep Dusty Johnson joins group moving to resume work on the Keystone XL Pipeline

Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Feb 3, 2021 12:25 PM House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) joined House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Congressman Dusty Johnson (R-SD) and 83 House Republicans to introduce the Keystone XL Pipeline Construction and Jobs Preservation Act. This legislation authorizes the construction and operation of the Keystone XL Pipeline and declares that a Presidential permit is not required. This legislation follows President Biden’s decision to rescind the border crossing permit. “President Biden has initiated an all-out assault on American jobs, starting with his day-one decision to cancel the Keystone Pipeline. President Biden had a choice of whether he would support our recent progress toward American energy independence, lower household energy costs, and the creation of well-paying American jobs, and instead he sold out those hard-working families to appease the most radical left base of his party. Unfortunately, he chose to fire thousand

Trump powers GOP schism over Taylor Greene and Cheney

Trump powers GOP schism over Taylor Greene and Cheney The Republican civil war hits a critical moment on Wednesday over the fate of two prominent lawmakers who represent rival visions for a party torn by the toxic but still powerful influence of Donald Trump. Real-time reckonings for third-ranked GOP House leader Liz Cheney and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a freshman congresswoman who has espoused outlandish and dangerous conspiracy theories, will help establish the extent to which a loyalty oath to the ex-President remains the party’s dominant principle. Cheney is expecting to confront a venting session over her vote of conscience to impeach Trump in the House Republican Conference on Wednesday. In the coming days she faces a fight to hang onto her leadership post. She is also confronting a potential primary challenge at home over her decision.

Trumpism Need Not Define the GOP

Trumpism Need Not Define the GOP | Opinion On 2/3/21 at 11:46 AM EST This week s political stories bring more bad news for those who support a growing, dynamic Republican Party. First, the ten brave House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump for his seditious conduct face primaries and negative feedback from their local parties. Second, the clueless Arizona GOP, led by an even more clueless party chair, voted to censure their three most successful politicians this century – Governor Doug Ducey, former Senator Jeff Flake and Cindy McCain, wife of the late Senator John McCain, for calling out Trump s electoral lies. Finally, Senator Rob Portman from Ohio has announced his retirement. An independent and strategic thinker, Portman surely became weary of sidestepping the former president s increasingly bizarre behavior and pronouncements.

Fact Check: Democrats Launch Ads Falsely Accusing GOP of Backing QAnon

2 Feb 2021 The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) falsely attacked several House Republicans in a series of ads launched Tuesday, claiming that the House GOP members backed the QAnon conspiracy theory. The DCCC, the campaign arm of the House Democrats, launched a half-million-dollar television and digital ad campaign accusing Republicans of “standing with Q and now with you.” This is the DCCC’s first ad buy of the 2022 congressional midterm cycle. The ad buys feature footage of the January 6 D.C. riots. The ads target Reps. Mike Garcia (R-CA), Young Kim (R-CA), Michelle Steel (R-CA), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), Don Bacon (R-NE), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Beth Van Duyne (R-TX), and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
