Capitol Insider: Calls For Special Session Go Unheeded

Defiant State GOP Chairman Triples Down On Holocaust Analogy

By: Storme Jones OKLAHOMA CITY - The chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party is now tripling down after comparing private company vaccine mandates to Nazi Germany. In a second prerecorded video released Wednesday, Oklahoma GOP Chairman John Bennett called on Republicans to “take the gloves off” adding, “we will take our cities, our counties, and this state back.” In Oklahoma, all 77 counties twice voted for Donald Trump, Republicans have supermajorities in the House and Senate, all seven members of Congress are Republicans and both major cities are led by Republican mayors. “If you’re in a position of leadership today and you don’t want to lead, then just get out of the way. We will find someone else that will lead,” Bennett said.

8-Term Republican Congressman Rebukes Oklahoma GOP Leadership

“There’s a screw loose there somewhere,” Mickey Edwards said. The rebuke from eight-term former Congressman Mickey Edwards comes after State GOP Chairman John Bennett doubled down on comparing private business vaccine mandates to the Holocaust. “Right now, Republicans in Oklahoma don’t act like grown-ups. They act like children throwing tantrums,” Edwards said. “My own fellow republicans came out against me,” Oklahoma GOP Chairman John Bennett said in a Facebook video posted to the official party page. He declined to return News 9’s request for comment since last Friday. “If we don’t do something about it now, it’s going to end in the same exact result as we saw when nobody stood up whenever the Jews were told that they had to wear that star,” Bennett said.
