House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) is one of the latest high-profile politicians to condemn Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) after she encouraged protesters to take to the streets and “get more confrontational,” reminding everyone of his near-death experience after a man, who once referred to Republicans as the “Taliban of the USA,” shot him at a congressional baseball practice in 2017.
“Let’s be clear: Maxine Waters knew her rhetoric would incite violence in Minneapolis but she doesn’t care, she just requests police escorts for herself,” Scalise said Monday afternoon.
“I was shot because of this kind of dangerous rhetoric. Where is the outrage from Dems & the media?” he asked, urging them to condemn her words:

Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) recently grilled FBI Director Christopher Wray on why amid a push by Democrats to crack down on “extremism” the June 14, 2017, shooting of House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) that targeted Republicans was never classified as “domestic violent extremism” despite other government agencies doing so.
Wenstrup recalled at a House Intelligence Committee hearing Wednesday what he remembered from that morning as Republican members of Congress practiced for the upcoming annual congressional softball game.
“The attacker was living in his van near the baseball field, along the third baseline for two months. We know from his social media post that he hated republicans and he hated President Trump. He loved Bernie Sanders and he held left-wing beliefs. We know he carried in his pocket that day a target list with names of Republican congressmen in his pocket that included their physical descriptions,” he said.

Bank of America says about half of Biden s infrastructure plan is traditional, or physical, infrastructure.
This contrasts with the GOP argument that less than 6% of Biden s plan goes to roads and bridges.
The bank added that nontraditional infrastructure will take longer to prompt economic growth.
The leaders of the Republican party have argued that President Joe Biden s $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan funds too many things that aren t physical, or traditional, infrastructure, saying that less than 6% of its spending goes to rebuilding roads and bridges.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell slammed the plan the same day Biden unveiled it, calling it a liberal wish-list, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy released a statement to similar effect. House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) got a stunning admission from Biden’s chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, on Thursday, by showing him photos of the crowded conditions at the southern border taken during his recent trip there, and asking if they were following the Biden administration’s own COVID-19 guidelines.
“Dr. Fauci, does this look like social distancing to you that you require when you talk about six feet?” Scalise asked, holding up photos from one of the Biden administration’s border facilities.
